Cook makes the most commendable points that might does not make right and and that such actions would be most immoral. Yet, he fails to see that that might lies behind any defense and theodicy to exonerate supposed God of permitting evil. He's have no right to judge and punish us anyway!
That's the Achilles heel of theism! We are independent beings, owing nothing to God, who Himself would owe us a better situation: that's the one-way street that Fr. Meslier's the problem of Heaven lays on Him!
